In 1978, the city of Fullerton, California, incorporated the Arboretum, an urban garden in the area. The 1.2-acre property was once a diseased orange grove, and was transformed into organic garden plots in the 1970s. The Arboretum's centerpiece is the 1894 Heritage House, which once belonged to Fullerton pioneer physician Dr. George C. Clark. The house was relocated to its current location in 1972.
